Quality, Food and Environmental Standards

Hydropac keeps up to date on ever changing legislation, which helps to ensure that its customers are meeting all the standards they need to achieve – this takes the worry out of the equation, giving its customers more time to concentrate on running their businesses.

Quality Manual and Quality Assurance Certificates

Hydropac’s Quality Manual: Issue 7 will be available for online access in May 2006.

Hydropac performs hourly quality checks of all production which includes tests on:

Water, colour, salt, material alignment, weight, pressure, mandril (for Coolers) and on each batch.

If you would like to review the manual or require a Quality Assurance Certificate please contact Michael Adams on 01494 530182.

Food Standards

Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 on the Hygiene of Foodstuffs and The temperature control requirements of the Food Hygiene (England/Scotland/Wales/Northern Ireland) Regulations 2006

Hydropac is also working closely with the Food Standards Agency in the preparation of the “Industry Guide to Good Hygiene Practice Guide: Mail Order” for Distance Selling of Perishable Foods, providing advice to mail order companies on complying with new general hygiene and temperature control legislation that will apply later in 2006.

Environmental Standards

EC Directive on Packaging and Packaging Waste 94/62/EC.

Hydropac is also working on helping customers comply with the EC Directive
on Packaging and Packaging Waste 94/62/EC. This new legislation affects most businesses as it has set a recycling target of 55-70%, with aims by weight per material of 60% for glass, 55% for paper/board, 50% for metals and 20% for plastics.
